Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Account information — such as your name, email, and role (viewer or owner), handled through our authentication provider.
• Content you create — listings, photos, descriptions, contact methods, and saved listings.
• Verification documents — if you publish a listing, the one legitimacy proof you upload. It's stored privately, never shown to visitors, and opened only by authorized Aliplaces reviewers through short-lived links; each access is logged.
• Billing records — if you buy an owner plan or boost, we keep the subscription and payment records needed to run it. Card and e-wallet details are handled by our payment processor (PayMongo); we never see or store your card number.
• Usage data — basic server logs about how the service is used, to keep it working and secure. We don't currently run third-party analytics.
• Location you provide — the map location you set on a listing, or device location only if you choose to use map features like directions.

How we use information

• To operate core features: accounts, listings, search, maps, saved lists.
• To connect viewers and owners through the contact options provided.
• To keep the platform safe and enforce our rules.
• To communicate with you about your account or support requests.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your personal data.
• We don't collect rent or deposits between viewers and owners, and we never see card numbers — our payment processor handles those.
• We don't build advertising profiles about you.

Service providers

We use trusted third parties to run Aliplaces, including authentication, image hosting, maps, database hosting, and payment processing (PayMongo). They process data on our behalf to provide these features. Owner-provided contact methods may lead to third-party apps governed by their own privacy policies.

We use cookies and browser storage for essential functions like keeping you signed in and remembering your search preferences. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Data retention

We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal data, except where we must retain it to comply with the law or resolve disputes.

Your choices & rights

• Access or update your account information from your profile.
• Remove listings and saved items you've created.
• Request deletion of your account and personal data via Data Deletion Request.

Children

Aliplaces isn't directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone who can't form a binding contract.

Changes

We may update this policy as Aliplaces grows. We'll revise the date above and, for significant changes, provide additional notice.
